I’m Elin. A creative soul, an animal lover and a daydreamer with a love for fantasy.
I grew up on a small farm in the countryside of Enebakk, Norway, surrounded by animals and nature. I’ve had a vivid imagination and a rich inner world for as long as I can remember, and growing up I was always playing, creating and getting lost in my own little worlds. Animals were a big part of my childhood, and I think growing up so close to them shaped both my imagination and the way I see them, not just as animals, but as individuals with their own personalities and presence.

After high school, I trained as a Special Effects Artist at the Nordic Institute of Stage and Studio (NISS) in Oslo. I was drawn to special effects because of the hands-on process behind it. Starting with nothing but an idea and using my hands to turn it into something physical and real.
To me, that felt like art.
There was something therapeutic about the process. I could sit for hours sculpting and completely lose track of time. It was a kind of creative flow I hadn’t experienced before.
After finishing my studies, I worked as a makeup artist and took on different SFX projects. Halloween became my favorite excuse to really let my creativity loose, just for the joy of creating.
Over the years, my path has taken me in many different directions. I’ve always been a creator at heart, but that creative energy has expressed itself in different ways throughout my life. When I found my way to creating sculptures, I fell in love with creating all over again.

Today, I live in Oslo with my dog and cat, surrounded by nature.
I still love getting lost in my own little worlds, whether I’m creating, listening to music, spending time in nature and with animals, or disappearing into a fantasy world for a while.
Naturally, a lot of that finds its way into my work. I’m drawn to both the light and the dark (mostly the dark… hehe), the beautiful, the strange, the magical and sometimes the unsettling.
One of the most important parts of every sculpture for me is the eyes. I try to capture its soul, emotion and presence.
Every sculpture is shaped and painted entirely by hand. I want each one to feel like its own little being. Something you might look at and feel strangely connected to.
I’ve often felt a little out of place in the ordinary world.
Maybe that’s why I’ve always been so drawn to fantasy, to worlds where things feel a little more magical, strange and free. It has always given me somewhere else to go for a while. And that’s what Realms of Elin is. Not just a home for the creatures I create, but a little world of my own.

I’m incredibly grateful that I get to share this part of my world with you. If one of my creations makes you feel something, reminds you of something within yourself, or simply makes you stop and look a little longer, then that means more to me than you probably know.
Thank you for stepping into my world.
♡, Elin
